Infinix Note 40X Smartphone Review
Infinix Note 40X Smartphone Review: The Infinix Note 40X was announced in August 2024 in India and went on sale a week later. Most of the smartphones from Infinix are usually launched in India first and then come out to the global market. However, the company has not mentioned anything officially yet. The Infinix Note 40X looks similar to other Infinix phones launched in 2024.
The smartphone is designed to bring premium features to users on a budget, which is why it has 5G connectivity to make it stand out from the crowd. However, 5G connectivity is not the only premium feature of this phone and it comes with a bunch of equally interesting features to be competitive. Let’s start with a detailed review of the new Infinix Note 40X and see if this smartphone is worth buying.

Design and exhibition
The Infinix Note 40X features a flat design similar to other Infinix phones launched this year. It even features a similar camera module on the back. The phone has flat sides and a flat back panel, which provides a stronger grip and prevents it from slipping out of your hand. However, the design is so similar to other Infinix phones that it has become a bit boring.
If it had at least had a premium build material, it would have been a bit more exciting, but that’s not the case here. The body is made entirely of plastic, but it is at least somewhat protected against dust and water splashes. As for the display, the smartphone sports a 6.78-inch IPS display with support for a high refresh rate of 120 Hz.
This is a pretty accurate display that can reach up to 500 nits of brightness in direct sunlight, so you shouldn’t worry too much about visibility outdoors. The screen also has an FHD+ resolution, so you won’t be disappointed when watching videos and movies. The smartphone is available in Palm Blue, Lime Green, and Starlit Black.
Memory and internal
The Infinix Note 40X is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset, which is capable of clock speeds of 2×2.4GHz. This chipset is a decent performer for the price and can run any everyday app or game, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and more. As for gaming, it can run most games, such as PUBG Mobile, Black Desert Mobile, Summoners War, and CODm, with decent performance.
The Mali-G57 MC2 GPU is more than enough to handle those games, but don’t expect it to break any performance records. As for the operating system, the smartphone comes with Android 14 with XOS 14 one-user interface, which provides plenty of customization options. The smartphone also supports 5G connectivity, allowing you to download movies at gigabit speeds and play multiplayer games with low latency. As for RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack and support for microSDXC card expansion, which are usually missing on other phones.
Camera
The Infinix Note 40X features a 108MP triple rear camera system. The 108MP primary rear camera is capable of taking some decent pictures. Detail levels are decent and color tone also appears natural most of the time. Image quality is comparable to other smartphones in the same price range.
However, the secondary 2MP macro camera won’t be useful for anything good. There’s a Quad-LED flash that can help in extremely dark situations, but that’s about it as far as the rear camera is concerned. As for selfies, there’s an 8MP camera that can take selfies that are decent enough to be uploaded on social media platforms. The selfies aren’t too bad, but they’re not great either. As far as video recording is concerned, the rear camera can shoot at a maximum resolution of 1440p at 30 FPS, while the selfie cameras can shoot up to 1080p at 30 FPS. There’s no video stabilization of any kind.
Battery and others
The Infinix Note 40X has a high-capacity 5000mAh battery, which can offer 1-2 days of battery life with light to moderate usage including the camera, texting, Facebook, YouTube, and note-taking. However, playing a lot of games will drain the battery much faster and the smartphone may not even last a full day.
For charging, there’s an 18W wired charger, which will take around 2 to 3 hours to fully charge the smartphone. The lack of decent fast charging is disappointing, but it is what it is. Apart from that, the Infinix Note 40X has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone starts at $178 (Rs 14,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Infinix Note 40X is a decent budget smartphone. It has all the basics and a bit more. It has a decent display, a great camera, excellent battery, and pretty good gaming performance. On top of all that, it has 5G connectivity, which is definitely great. The phone even has protection against dust and splashes.
It is a fantastic smartphone that is well-balanced for the budget category. For its specs and features, the price is okay. However, Infinix could have opted for a slightly faster chipset. At its current price, this phone is in direct competition with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 smartphone which has a better display, better chipset, and faster charging at a slightly higher price. If the price of the Infinix Note 40X was a bit lower, it would have been the better choice, but that is not the case anymore. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
