Design and display
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion features a premium design with a combination of a curved screen, curved sides, and the use of premium materials such as leather. However, the side and middle frame are plastic. But due to the use of leather, the phone feels premium in the hand. The phone is available in Forest Blue, Marshmallow Blue, and Hot Pink color options. The phone is also protected with an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.
As for the display, it is a 6.7-inch curved P-OLED display with 144Hz high refresh rate support. However, in Latin American countries, the refresh rate maxes out at 120Hz. The display is bezel-less and due to its curved nature, it looks absolutely beautiful. The screen is color accurate and the colors look flawless.
The screen can be very bright at over 1600 nits in direct sunlight, so you’ll get the same viewing experience outdoors as you do indoors. The screen is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5, so it should be fine against light scratches.
Memory and internal
Motorola has equipped the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 5G, which is capable of reaching clock speeds of 2×2.4 GHz. This is a great chipset in the mid-range segment and is capable of running all your social media apps, games and more without any problem. This chipset has tremendous potential and you will see it when running games, thanks to the Adreno 710 GPU.
It’s not the best GPU in the world, but it can run games like Genshin Impact, Black Desert Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, and CODm with smooth frame rates. The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion runs on Android 14 out of the box with Motorola’s new Hello UX UI for a better and cleaner user experience.
In terms of RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB to 512GB of storage. Since there is no support for microSDXC cards, it is best to purchase a higher capacity storage option beforehand. The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, so enjoy gigabit-level speeds and low-latency gaming.
Camera
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion has a 50MP dual rear camera system. The main camera consists of a 50MP sensor with OIS and the images from this camera have excellent levels of detail that exceed our expectations. Images have accurate colors, high dynamic range, and adequate white balance. The secondary 13MP ultra-wide camera also has a fairly capable sensor and is capable of capturing images with a wide field of view, high levels of detail and natural colors.
On the front, you have a 32MP selfie camera, which can take incredibly detailed selfies. The selfies have natural colors and correctly capture the subject’s facial features. When it comes to video recording, the rear cameras can record up to 4K at 30 FPS and the footage is stabilized with OIS and gyro-EIS. The selfie camera also records 4K videos without any video stabilization.
Battery and others
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion has a high-capacity 5000 mA battery, which can easily last 1 to 2 days with light to moderate use. But with heavier usage or gaming, the battery will drain faster as games put more pressure on the chipset, draining the battery quickly. This is a good battery life considering all the high-end components it contains.
As far as charging is concerned, the smartphone supports high-speed charging capabilities. Supports 68W wired fast charger, which can charge the smartphone to 50% in 15 minutes. However, support for wireless charging is missing. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, fingerprint scanner, NFC, GPS, stereo speakers, and USB Type-C for charging. The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion starts at $550 (Rs 25,900 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is designed to be a cheaper alternative to the more premium ones [[Motorola Edge 50 Ultra]]and Motorola managed to more or less achieve it. The smartphone’s display has fewer bezels, with uniform bezels on the top and chin. The display is also equally premium and is also protected by Gorilla Glass.
The camera and battery performance are also quite impressive. In addition to all this, the smartphone is protected from dust and water. All of these things make it a great phone for the asking price. However, there is also a disadvantage and it has to do with the chipset. The chipset performance is decent, but could have been better, especially in gaming performance.
Don’t get us wrong. Gaming performance is good, but other smartphones in the same price range offer a better chipset, which provides better performance. This smartphone is for people who want a smartphone with all the necessary specifications and features to provide a premium experience. But if you want a smartphone with even better performance, then you should go for the Samsung Galaxy C55. That smartphone provides a much better chipset, offering higher gaming performance for a lower price. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
