Design and exhibition
The Nothing CMF Phone 1 is designed with a rather unique brand design language. You won’t find any other phone with this kind of design. It has a lot of screws on the back, which are used to hold the replaceable back covers. You can also attach some accessories. A small screwdriver is provided inside the box, which you will need if you plan to change the back covers.
Overall, the design looks pretty pleasing to the eye, but it is a bold design choice that may not appeal to some users. The phone looks pretty sturdy, but the replaceable back covers seem rather flimsy and not very durable. The smartphone comes in three colors: black, orange, and light green. The phone is protected against dust and water splashes.
As for the display, it features a 6.67-inch AMOLED with support for a high 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also comes with FHD+ resolution, so viewing content on this display will be a pleasure. Unfortunately, there is no protection for the screen.
Memory and internal
The Nothing CMF Phone 1 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G chipset, which is capable of clock speeds of 4×2.5 GHz and is a more than decent performer, considering the smartphone’s price. The chipset will have no trouble running everyday apps or games, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and more.
This performance is also noticeable in the gaming department. In fact, games like Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, and CODm run quite well. The chipset has a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, which is more than enough to run most games. As for the operating system, the smartphone is compatible with Android 14.
Additionally, the smartphone supports 5G connectivity, so you can enjoy gigabit-level speeds and lower latency in multiplayer games. As for RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage. There is also a microSDXC, which allows for storage expansion later.
Camera
The Nothing CMF Phone 1 features a 50MP dual rear camera system. The main camera consists of a 50MP sensor, which can capture some decent shots with a good level of detail. The color tone is also pretty close to natural. These images are pretty good, considering the price, and honestly, they surprised us. Any human subject in the image also looks pretty good with a natural skin tone.
The second camera has a 2MP depth sensor, but it won’t be of much use. For the selfie camera, there’s a 16MP sensor, which takes some decent selfies with good details and a saturated color tone. As for video recording, the rear cameras can record up to 4K at 30 FPS, while the selfie cameras top out at 1080p at 30 FPS. There’s gyro-EIS support for stabilization, which may not be as good as OIS, but it does produce cleaner footage overall.
Battery and others
The Nothing CMF Phone 1 has a non-removable 5000mAh battery, which can last between 1-3 days with light to medium usage. So if you are using the camera, social media, texting, watching videos, taking notes, etc., it won’t be that hard to last 2 days or even more. However, if you start playing a lot of games or multiplayer games for long hours, the battery will drain much faster.
When the battery runs out, there’s a 33W wired fast charger, which can fully charge the smartphone in around 2 hours. Apart from that, the smartphone also has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, an under-display fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The Nothing CMF Phone 1 starts at $240 (Rs 19,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
In the Nothing CMF Phone 1 smartphone, everything from the design to the performance and camera is fantastic. It has a replaceable back cover and accessories, which gives enhanced customization options. You certainly get more for what you pay for. The design is the most fascinating part of the smartphone and will attract a lot of attention from other users.
The display is also pretty decent and is perfect for watching movies and TV series. The chipset is also quite fast and can run many games without any major issues. The same goes for the camera, battery, charging, and other aspects of the phone. It even has 5G connectivity, which is surprising considering the price of the phone. You will also find a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication, which is quite rare on a phone that costs so little. The best alternative smartphone is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G smartphone, which has similar specifications and price. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
