Realme Narzo N65 Smartphone Review
Realme Narzo N65 Smartphone Review: The Realme Narzo N65 was announced in May 2024 for the Indian market and then went on sale later that month. Realme’s Narzo smartphone is usually launched in the global market as well but it is yet to be announced. The Realme Narzo N65 looks similar to other Realme phones from 2024 and features the same circular camera module at the back.
The smartphone is designed for users on a budget but has 5G connectivity to stand out among its competition. Many smartphones launched in this price range do not have 5G, which gives this Realme smartphone a good advantage. However, 5G connectivity is just a part of the phone, and the rest of the smartphone needs to be equally good to be competitive in this market. So, let’s start with a detailed review of the new Realme Narzo N65 and see if this smartphone is worth buying.

Design and exhibition
The Realme Narzo N65 has the same design language as other Realme phones launched this year. So, it has a similar design with flat sides and a flat back panel. The design is decent, but Realme launched so many phones with the same design that it has become very boring. There is nothing exciting about the design or the build quality. The body is made entirely of plastic.
As for the display, the smartphone sports a 6.67-inch IPS display with support for a high refresh rate of 120Hz. This is a pretty accurate display and can reach up to 625 nits brightness in direct sunlight, so you don’t need to worry too much about outdoor visibility. However, the display only has HD+ resolution and the lack of FHD resolution might be a deal-breaker for some people. The smartphone is available in Amber Gold and Deep Green colour options. The phone is also protected against dust and water splashes with the IP54 rating.
Memory and internal
The Realme Narzo N65 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset. This chipset has relatively decent performance and is capable of clock speeds of 2×2.4GHz, but the chipset won’t break any performance records. This isn’t a performance-oriented chipset, so its processing speed won’t be that fast. However, you won’t have any trouble running everyday apps or games, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and more.
Speaking of gaming, it can run most games such as PUBG Mobile and CODm with decent performance. The Mali-G57 MC2 GPU is more than enough to handle those games, but don’t expect it to run demanding games like Genshin Impact. As for the OS, the smartphone comes with the latest Android 14 with RealmeUI 5.0 UI, which provides plenty of customization options.
The smartphone also supports 5G connectivity, something that is still not found on other phones in this price range. As for RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 4GB/6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack and support for microSDXC card expansion, which are usually missing on other phones.
Camera
The Realme Narzo N65 has a 50MP sensor on the rear camera. Unlike other phones, it has a single rear camera and can capture some decent photos with levels of detail that are good enough for social media. These photos have a saturated color tone, but some people prefer it over the natural color tone.
There is a flash that can help in extremely dark situations, but that’s about it as far as the rear camera is concerned. As for the selfie camera, there’s an 8MP sensor, and it can take average selfies at best. Photos aren’t too bad, but they’re not great either. As far as video recording is concerned, both the rear camera and the selfie camera can record at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 30 FPS.
Battery and others
The Realme Narzo N65 has a high-capacity 5000mAh battery, which can offer 2-3 days of battery life with light to medium usage including the camera, social media, texting, watching videos, and taking notes. However, if you play a lot of games, the battery will drain much faster and the smartphone may not last more than a day.
For charging, there’s a 15W wired charger, which will take around 3 hours to fully charge the smartphone. The lack of decent fast charging is disappointing, but it is what it is. Apart from that, the smartphone has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The Realme Narzo N65 starts at $137 (Rs 11,499 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Realme Narzo N65 is a budget smartphone that has all the basic features up to par. It has an accurate display, decent gaming performance, excellent battery life, and a camera with a more modern than average performance. On top of all that, it has 5G connectivity. The phone even has the latest Android operating system out of the box.
The smartphone also has dust and splash protection. Basically, it is a well-balanced smartphone for the budget category. However, the competition is tough in the market and Realme should have priced it a bit lower knowing that. For its approximate price, it is in direct competition with the Xiaomi Redmi 12 smartphone which has a better display, chipset, and faster charging at a bit higher price. But considering the price, we would rather recommend the Redmi 12 instead. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
