This new smartphone is designed to provide the best possible experience on a budget, so it comes with the latest technologies, including 5G technology.

The Vivo S19 Pro follows Vivo’s signature design language and looks quite stylish, especially in the new color palette. Vivo wants to carve out a niche in the mid-range sector with this smartphone and capture a new market share. So, let’s start with a detailed review of the Vivo S19 Pro smartphone and see if it is worth buying.

Reflexes

  1. The Vivo S19 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz high refresh rate support.
  2. The SoC inside the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ 5G chipset, which is capable of clocking speeds of 1×3.35 GHz.
  3. The new smartphone comes with Android 14 with an OriginOS 4 UI for better customization support.
  4. The Vivo S19 Pro has a 50MP triple rear camera system with a 50MP selfie camera.
  5. The Vivo S19 Pro is powered by a 5500mAh Si/C battery with 80W fast wired charging and reverse wired charging support.

Design and display

The Vivo S19 Pro features a very aesthetically pleasing design, thanks to the curved nature of the smartphone. The side and center frame are made of plastic, while the rear panel is glass. The use of plastic was to keep prices low. The sides are rounded to provide a better grip and the phone does not slide easily. It is available in grey, green and light blue color options.

The new phone is also quite thin, especially at 7.6mm, so it will feel good in the hand. On the front, you will find a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The use of a high refresh rate display was aimed at providing a smooth user experience, and Vivo certainly achieved that. The display panel supports up to 1 billion colors, offering a stellar viewing experience.

The screen can get very bright at 4500 nits, which can be a bit extreme and is only found on expensive smartphones. The Vivo S19 Pro is protected against dust and water with IP68/IP69K certification. However, there is no protection for the screen.

Memory and internal

The Vivo S19 Pro features a flagship-level MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ 5G chipset that is capable of delivering a clock speed of up to 1×3.35 GHz. In terms of raw performance, this chipset is as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. So, you get an extremely fast CPU with this smartphone, which can run any app or game smoothly and without any issues.

Speaking of gaming, the Immortalis-G715 MC11 can play any game, including Genshin Impact, PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, Black Desert Mobile, and CODm, with maximum graphical fidelity and high frame rates. The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, which will offer gigabit-level download speeds and significantly lower latency. This is important when playing multiplayer games and players will surely appreciate it.

When it comes to the operating system, the Vivo S19 Pro runs on the latest Android 14 with an OriginOS 4 UI for better customization support. For RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 8GB to 16GB of RAM and 256GB to 512GB of storage.

Camera

The Vivo S19 Pro has a 50MP triple rear camera system. The 50MP main rear camera captures excellent photos with high levels of detail. We weren’t expecting such great camera capabilities considering the price, but Vivo managed to surprise us. It’s an impressive camera and the images have accurate colors and high dynamic range. It won’t beat the Samsung Galaxy S24 line of smartphones, but it will get you pretty close to its performance.

The second camera has a 50MP telephoto sensor and can capture photos with 2x optical zoom. The images look incredible with excellent levels of detail. However, the same cannot be said for the third camera, which has an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. This sensor is not bad but it is in no way comparable to the performance of the other two cameras. Images from this sensor do not have much detail and appear softer. There is also a color change compared to the main sensor.

For the selfie camera, it has a 50MP sensor, which is capable of taking excellent selfies with a natural color tone and high levels of detail. As for video recording, the Vivo S19 Pro can record at a maximum of 4K@30FPS from both the rear camera and the selfie camera. Additionally, the rear camera system has OIS and gyro-EIS for video stabilization.

Battery and others

The Vivo S19 Pro has a 5500 mAh Si/C battery, which is denser than traditional batteries and allows this smartphone to easily provide 1-2 days of backup. This is with light to moderate use including some social media, camera, texting, watching movies, etc. But if you play a lot of games, the battery will drain faster and may not even last a full day.

The Vivo S19 Pro also supports 80W wired fast charger, which can fully charge the smartphone in less than 50 minutes. The smartphone also supports reverse wire charging technology. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, an under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, GPS, and stereo speakers. The Vivo S19 Pro starts at CNY 3,300 (Approx. Rs. 38,758 or $455).

Conclusion

The Vivo S19 Pro is a fantastic flagship smartphone that has a lot to offer. The design looks extremely premium and feels great in the hand. The display features accurate colors and can get as bright as that of flagship smartphones that cost much more. The chipset is also equally impressive and offers excellent gaming performance.

The same goes for the camera and battery performance. They will outperform most smartphones in the same price range. The price is the most shocking part. Vivo managed to keep the price so low, especially considering everything it offers. If you are looking for a great smartphone on a budget, you cannot find a better deal than this smartphone.

There is no other smartphone that can come close to offering everything it does while maintaining the lowest price. The closest smartphone to this would be the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, but it will still fall behind the Vivo S19 Pro in many areas. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
