Infinix Note 30 VIP smartphone review

Infinix Note 30 VIP

Infinix Note 30 VIP Smartphone Review: Infinix launched the new Infinix Note 30 VIP in June 2023, but you can hardly call this a new smartphone. In terms of specifications, the Infinix Note 30 VIP matches the Infinix GT 10 Pro, while borrowing the design, IP rating and wireless charging technology of the Infinix Note 30 Pro. Infinix took the best parts of two smartphones , including 5G, and merged them into a single smartphone.

That is why Infinix believes that this is the smartphone that can provide the best possible experience on a limited budget. The smartphone is available in several regions around the world and more regions will follow shortly. The design of the new Infinix Note 30 VIP follows the design language of other Infinix smartphones and looks stylish. Let’s review the Infinix Note 30 VIP and see if you should consider buying this smartphone.

Reflexes

  1. The Infinix Note 30 VIP features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1 billion colors, and 900 nits of peak brightness.
  2. Infinix Note 30 VIP is powered by the 6nm Mediatek Dimensity 8050 5G chipset with a clock speed of 1×3.0 GHz.
  3. The smartphone runs on Android 13 with an XOS 13 UI for better customization support.
  4. The Infinix Note 30 VIP features a 108MP triple camera system on the rear and a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
  5. The smartphone features a 5000mAh battery with 68W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.

Design and display

The design of the Infinix Note 30 VIP is quite similar to that of the Infinix Note 30 Pro. It has the same glass rear panel, but with different color shades, which gives the smartphone its iconic gradient finish. Speaking of colors, the Infinix Note 30 VIP is available for purchase in Magic Black, Glacier White, and a special Racing Edition.

The Racing Edition was created in partnership with BMW’s Design Works team and brings with it a bold design that aims to bring out the gamer in you. The sides are flat, which improves grip when holding the smartphone. The Infinix Note 30 VIP is protected by IP53 dust and splash water resistance. On the front, you get a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and billion color support.

The screen features accurate color reproduction and text looks sharp. This sharpness continues outdoors as well, as the screen can reach a brightness of up to 900 nits, making it easier for your eyes to read content outdoors. Support for 1 billion colors on the display will ensure that there are no color banding issues that plague other smartphone displays in the same price range.

Memory and internal

The Infinix Note 30 VIP has been equipped with the 6nm Mediatek Dimensity 8050 5G chipset. This is a powerful chipset considering the price at which it was launched. The clock speed of this chipset is 1×3.0 GHz, making it capable of running all your daily applications smoothly in real-life usage. So you can multitask between all your favorite apps, like Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Snapchat and many more.

Additionally, since the chipset is made using 6nm technology, it doesn’t get as hot and remains relatively cool under normal circumstances. You can even keep multiple tabs running in the browser in the background for an extended period and they will continue to run, thanks to the optimizations implemented by the Infinix team. Talking about memory, the Infinix Note 30 VIP comes with up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For gaming, the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU will be more than enough for you.

This GPU is powerful enough to run modern games like Genshin Impact, CODm, and PUBG mobile at higher settings and smooth frame rates. The Infinix Note 30 VIP also comes equipped with Android 13 with an XOS 13 UI. This custom UI has all the customization options you can imagine. The smartphone is also 5G ready and capable of providing gigabit download speeds.

Camera

The Infinix Note 30 VIP has a 108MP triple rear camera system with a 108MP sensor for the main camera and two 2MP sensors. The main camera with 108MP sensor is optimized to capture twice the light compared to other smartphones in the same price range. Therefore, you can capture images and videos with stunning details and high dynamic range for accurate colors.

However, the other two sensors are completely a gimmick and cannot be used for anything useless. On the front of the smartphone you will find a selfie camera with a 32MP sensor. You can capture great selfies with uniform skin tones and color temperatures. When it comes to video recording, the Infinix Note 30 VIP can record up to 4K@30FPS from the main rear camera, while the selfie camera maxes out at 1080p@30FPS.

Battery and others

The Infinix Note 30 VIP has a 5000mAh battery capacity that should easily last 1-2 days with lighter usage. But, when you play games for a long period, it will be very taxing on the processor and will drain the battery. In that case, the smartphone may not last a full day. However, Infinix has equipped the smartphone with wireless and wired charging to keep battery phobia at bay. You can quickly recharge the battery to its full power with 68W wired fast charging or 50W wireless charging.

Which one you should choose is your choice, but Infinix will provide the wired charger inside the smartphone box, something that not many companies are willing to do these days. For wireless charging, you will need to separately purchase a compatible wireless charging pad, preferably one that can provide 50W of power to harness the full potential of the smartphone’s wireless charging capability. Apart from that, the smartphone comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, stereo speakers, and GPS. The price of the smartphone starts at $290 (Rs 24,000 in India) approximately.

Conclusion

The Infinix Note 30 VIP offers a premium experience at a price that none of its competitors can compete with. It provides a fantastic experience in almost all areas, be it the rich color display, the fast chipset or the incredible battery and charging performance. Everything is fine as Infinix promised, including using high-end components to provide super-fast wireless charging. Many companies even struggle to offer super fast charging capabilities in wired charging.

But don’t get carried away with the smartphone, as the camera performance is not up to par. The main camera is pretty good, but the other two cameras are pretty useless, which is not the case with other smartphones in the same price range. So if you are happy with the design, display, performance and battery, go for the smartphone with your eyes closed. You won’t get a better smartphone in this price range.

But if you want an ultra-wide-angle camera or a telephoto camera and are willing to pay a little more, there are other smartphone options you can take a look at. The Oppo Reno 10 is one such example, which has ultra-wide-angle and telephoto cameras at a higher price. But that’s the cost of buying a smartphone with a camera. Apart from this lack of multiple camera sensors, the Infinix Note 30 VIP is a solid smartphone. Which smartphone you should purchase will depend on your needs and requirements.
