Vivo Y300 Pro Smartphone Review
Vivo Y300 Pro Smartphone Review: The Vivo Y300 Pro was announced in September 2024 as a budget mid-range smartphone and will then go on sale in the same month. The smartphone has just been launched but considering Vivo’s history, it will soon expand to more countries. However, the Vivo Y300 Pro may launch under a different name globally.
The new Vivo Y300 Pro comes with some pretty good hardware inside, including 5G connectivity. Vivo seems to be very keen on entering the budget mid-range segment with the Vivo Y300 Pro, so let’s get started with our detailed analysis and see if this smartphone is worth buying.

Design and exhibition
The design of the Vivo Y300 Pro looks quite premium, especially because of the striking new colors. This phone is available in Black, Ocean Blue, Titanium, and White color options. The sides and corners of the body are curved, which provides a better hand feel when using the smartphone. It is also protected against dust and water, thanks to the IP65 rating.
The giant camera module on the rear panel of the phone may look a bit big in images, but it complements the design of the phone perfectly. As for the display, it sports a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen is bezel-less and looks absolutely gorgeous.
The display is color accurate and supports up to 1 billion colors, making it amazing. This panel can reach around 5000 nits under direct sunlight, which is extremely bright and more than what you would get even on flagship phones. Such high brightness will allow you to get a better viewing experience whether indoors or outdoors. However, the display does not have any protection whatsoever.
Memory and internal
Vivo has equipped the Vivo Y300 Pro with the Qualcomm SM6450 Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 5G, which is capable of reaching clock speeds of 4×2.2 GHz. This great chipset is capable of running all your social media apps, games, and more without any issues. Speaking of gaming, the Adreno 710 GPU can run games like Genshin Impact, Black Desert Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, and CODm at decently smooth frame rates.
It’s not the best GPU in the world, but it can certainly run most mobile games decently. The Vivo Y300 Pro runs on Android 14 with OriginOS 4 UI for more features and customization support. As for the RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB/512GB of fast UFS 2.2 storage.
Also, since it doesn’t support microSDXC cards, it’s best to purchase a higher-capacity storage option beforehand. The chipset also supports 5G connectivity, so you’ll be able to enjoy gigabit-level download speeds and low latency during online gaming.
Camera
The Vivo Y300 Pro sports a 50MP dual rear camera system. The 50MP primary camera can take some decent photographs with excellent levels of detail and a high dynamic range that will give it a run for its money with other smartphones in the same price range. The image quality of the photographs from this camera is quite good for posting on social media platforms. However, the secondary camera has a 2MP depth sensor, which is pretty much useless.
On the front, the phone has a 32MP selfie camera. It can take incredibly detailed selfies with natural color tones. As far as video recording is concerned, the rear cameras can record up to 4K at 30 FPS, but the selfie camera can only record videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 30 FPS. Images from the main rear camera will be stabilized with gyro-EIS, but the same cannot be said for the selfie camera.
Battery and others
The Vivo Y300 Pro has a high-capacity 6500mAh battery, which can provide 2-4 days of battery life. This kind of battery life is only possible with light to moderate usage that includes some Facebook, texting, watching movies, a bit of camera, and more. But with more intensive usage or gaming, the battery will drain faster and may not even last a full day. However, its super-fast charging will take care of any battery issues you may have.
The Vivo Y300 has support for an 80W high-speed charging system, which can fully charge the smartphone in around 40 minutes, but there is no support for wireless charging. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, an under-display fingerprint scanner, GPS, and USB Type-C for charging. The Vivo Y300 Pro starts at $260 (Rs 21,990 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Vivo Y300 Pro is designed to be a budget mid-range smartphone that can more or less deliver a similar experience to other more expensive phones. It has everything you would expect from a smartphone, from a fantastic display to the largest battery capacity. Even the display is borderless and looks great. On top of that, the chipset is quite capable and can run most modern games with low latency thanks to 5G connectivity.
Considering the specs and all the features it has, the price of the Vivo Y300 Pro is decent, but it could have been a bit better. The only decent alternative to this smartphone is the Vivo iQOO Z9s Pro, which has even better camera and gaming performance for a slightly higher price. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
