Design and display
The design of the Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus has undergone some changes, but it does not differ drastically from its predecessor. It has a flat design on the sides and back panel, which allows for a stronger grip and the smartphone will not slip out of the palm of your hand. The corners are rounded, which makes the screen look more premium.
Speaking of the display, the Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus has a 6.79-inch FHD+ IPS display with 120Hz high refresh rate support. This is a panel with FHD+ resolution and can reach a brightness of up to 550 nits, so which will offer a decent viewing experience, and watching videos and movies will be a pleasure. There’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the display, while the phone is protected against dust and splashes of water with an IP53 rating. Overall, the build quality of the phone is solid and will last a long time. The colors of the smartphone are absolutely fantastic. It is available in black, purple and silver.
Memory and internal
The Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE 5G chipset, which can reach clock speeds of up to 2×2.3 GHz. This is a decent chipset considering the price of the smartphone, and its 2 .3 Ghz will keep everyday apps, like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Messenger and more, running smoothly.
Even gaming is pretty decent with this chipset. It has the Adreno 613 GPU, which can comfortably run games like PUBG mobile, CODm, Black Desert Mobile, Summoners War and even Genshin Impact runs relatively smoothly. But high-end games like Genshin Impact won’t run well. It’s not a gaming chipset, however, so don’t expect serious gaming capabilities.
The smartphone also has 5G connectivity, so you will get high speeds and low latency while gaming. In addition to that, the Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus can be purchased with up to 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus runs on Android 14 with a feature-rich HyperOS UI. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which audiophiles will appreciate.
Camera
The Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus comes with a 108MP dual rear camera system. The 108MP main camera can capture great photos with decent levels of detail, high dynamic range, and natural-looking color tone. The color range could have been a little better, but they are fine for uploading to social media platforms.
The secondary camera consists of a 2MP Macro sensor, which is completely useless and will not help you in any situation. It would have been better if it was an 8MP ultrawide. On the front of the Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus, there is a 13MP selfie camera, which is capable of taking some decent selfies. These selfies tend to have a good amount of detail, a decent white balance, and a natural-looking skin tone.
As for video recording, the Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus can record videos up to 1080p@30FPS from both the rear camera and the selfie camera. Also, in fact, there is no OIS video stabilization or even gyro-EIS.
Battery and others
The Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus has a high-capacity 5030 mAh battery, which is capable of lasting 2 days or more with light use. The phone can last a full day even with medium usage including camera, social media, watching videos, etc. However, if you are a gamer, the battery will drain faster and won’t even last a full day.
However, the smartphone supports 33W wired fast charging, which can fully charge the battery in about 2 hours. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available for purchase starting at $155 (Rs 12,990 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Xiaomi Poco M6 Plus has everything one could expect from a budget smartphone. It has the necessary hardware and features to stand out among other mid-range smartphones. The screen, for example, is fantastic for viewing content as it is bright and color accurate. It also has a high refresh rate, which should improve the user experience.
You also get a decent chipset whose app launch speed and gaming capabilities compare to much higher priced smartphones. The camera and battery performance is also pretty good, plus it has 5G connectivity. Considering the competition, the price could have been slightly better. Don’t get us wrong, the price is fine, but there is clear room for improvement. The best alternative smartphone would be the Realme Narzo 70, which has a better display, faster chipset, and even faster charging speed at a slightly higher cost. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
