The company’s official statement revealed that Meizu will stop developing traditional smartphones and will choose to focus exclusively on AI-powered projects.

According to the announcement, Meizu sees AI as the future of technology and aims to lead the charge in this transformative field. This strategic shift will involve a comprehensive overhaul of Meizu’s ecosystem, including rebuilding its operating system, Flyme OS, to seamlessly integrate AI.

One of the key aspects of Meizu’s AI strategy is collaboration. The company plans to collaborate with global AI experts and organizations, such as OpenAI, to leverage the latest advancements in AI technology. As part of its roadmap, Meizu has outlined plans to launch six AI-focused hardware products over the next three years. This includes the introduction of the first AI Device in 2024, followed by iterations and improvements in the following years, culminating in the launch of the AI ​​Device PRO in 2026.

Despite being in various stages of development, these smartphone projects will no longer continue, signaling a decisive shift from traditional phone manufacturing into the realm of Artificial Intelligence.
