Design and display
The Moto X50 Ultra shares the exact design and build quality of the Moto Edge 50 Ultra, which is noticeable when you place both phones side by side. Still, the matte finish back panel looks attractive with a covered camera island on the back. Be clear, this is a triple camera setup, which looks beautiful on the phone. In addition, three attractive color variants appear on sale.
From this you can choose between Nordic Wood, Peach Fuzz and Forest Grey. They all look interesting, while our favorite would be the Nordic wood one as it has a wooden backrest. It offers a unique paint job and offers quite a premium feel. The remaining two variants offer eco-leather rear panels. As far as build quality is concerned, the phone offers an aluminum frame and IP68 rating protection.
Anyway, when you get closer to the front display, you will find a 6.7-inch P-OLED panel with bottom display and optical safety protection. As for the visual experience, you will get impressive colors and contrasts with HD+ content support. The company also added a 144Hz refresh rate that can provide smooth browsing to users, while HDR 10+ ensures enhanced viewing. Last but not least, you get a bright 2500 nits display with Corning Gorilla Victus glass.
Memory and internal
Often, people did not consider the hardware aspect of the phone. But it is crucial to choose a phone with decent performance if you prefer gaming and other power-consuming activities. With the Moto X50 Ultra, you’ll find the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset under the hood. Through this hardware configuration, the phone can offer a stealth speed of up to 1×3.0 GHz. The octa-core processor can handle the performance aspect properly.
Apart from this, the phone also equips a top-notch Adreno 735 GPU that will handle the graphics and images without any worries. At the same time, you can play advanced games without losing graphics. It also includes the latest Android 14 setup, which ensures a bloatware-free interface. Apart from this, there are several customization options available on the interface so that you can adjust the layout, themes, and wallpaper of the app with just a few clicks.
Not to forget, the phone will get a couple of years of Android updates with support for security patches for bug-free use. Apart from this, the company also makes sure that users can purchase UFS 4.0 storage options with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of space. Additional performance is achieved through the 12GB and 16GB RAM capacity. No sign of secondary storage though. But still, your storage drive will seamlessly store your media, apps, and other files with ease.
Camera
Camera appearance should never be judged by the number of camera lenses. But if you want to capture dynamic range colors, you need at least a combination of primary, telephoto and ultra-wide sensors in the flagship phone. Hopefully, the Motorola Moto X50 Ultra comes with a triple camera setup and introduces a 50MP primary lens. It offers optical image stabilization with laser autofocus support.
Unlike the traditional camera module, the main sensor can produce high-definition and contrast colors with every click, while the phone also equips a 64MP periscope and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens setup. When it comes to photography, the native camera app offers beautiful modes that will help you capture details accurately. In addition to this, you can choose between night mode, professional mode or standard mode to capture memorable photos and videos.
On the other hand, there is also a 50MP selfie lens that further improves daylight photos. However, the selfie camera struggles in low lights. In any case, the software guarantees excellent image quality. At the same time, the Moto X50 Ultra offers regular 4K videos with stabilization support and proper video recording modes. Both sides of the camera module are capable of recording videos in QHD resolution.
Battery and others
The Motorola Moto X50 Ultra is equipped with a 4500 mAh capacity battery that can provide up to 4+ hours of screen time. It includes gaming, social media, streaming, and other activities for your leisure. Generally, the phone will run smoothly and you will not notice any heating issues. As for charging support, the 125W charger can recharge the battery in less than 20 minutes, while the 50W wireless charging can fill the battery in 45 minutes. Although the battery capacity is slightly smaller, having faster charging support adds more value to the phone.
Under the hood, the phone will appear with Xiaotian AI assistant to make your daily activities convenient and easy. Additionally, it also collaborates with parent company Lenovo, bringing AI support for PCs to your phone screen. As for additional sensors, you’ll find ultra-wideband support for improved connectivity, while the stereo speakers are drowned out by snapdragon sound. The initial variant of the Moto X50 Pro will be priced at $565 (Rs 46,990 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Motorola Moto X50 Ultra may not have the best viewing experience, but the smartphone dialer added almost everything needed in the first place. Whether you’re talking about a faster refresh rate, higher resolution, HDR controls, or a brighter display, the phone has your back. Not to forget that the photography department is really good if you want to click stunning pictures. Furthermore, the hardware and storage capacity are the plus point of this phone.
However, general use may seem boring as there are not many custom apps or dedicated game controller apps. Still, video recording is severely lacking in stabilization support even though you’re getting gyro-EIS. Still, if you’re looking for a better alternative, you should consider checking out the OnePlus 12. It offers the same level of performance, features, and camera capabilities and will cost a little more than Motorola. Still, if the Moto X50 Ultra appeals to you more, there is no problem in buying it. But please choose another phone if the phone does not meet your requirements.
