Ulefone Armor 27T Pro

Ulefone Armor 27 Pro Smartphone Review – The Ulefone Armor 27 Pro was announced in August 2024 and started shipping to customers on the same day. This rugged phone is available worldwide for a relatively cheaper price but features 5G connectivity, which other manufacturers tend to skip. The smartphone features a similar design to other rugged phones from Ulefone.

However, the design looks pretty good, especially in the black color with metallic details, and it should impress a lot of people. With some modern hardware inside, 5G connectivity, a decent design, and a good price, Ulefone wants to seriously impress its fans. So, let’s start with a detailed review of the Ulefone Armor 27 Pro and see if this smartphone is worth buying.

Design and exhibition

The Ulefone Armor 27 Pro is the latest rugged phone from Ulefone and it features a design that looks and feels quite solid in the hand. The build quality and use of materials are so good that it will give a tough competition to other rugged smartphones in the market. The phone is available in black colour with gold detailing that matches the rest of the phone’s aesthetics quite well.

You don’t have to just take our word for it, as this smartphone meets the MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. According to this certification, this rugged phone is strong enough to withstand drops from up to two meters onto concrete. Even the display is protected from scratches and drops thanks to the use of Gorilla Glass Victus.

As for the display, this phone has a 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Using a display with a high refresh rate provides a significantly better user experience. In addition, it is an IPS panel with FHD+ resolution, so it has excellent screen clarity and sharpness.

Memory and internal

The Ulefone Armor 27 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset, which is capable of clock speeds of up to 2 x 2.4 GHz. This is a decent chipset considering the price, Ulefone could have provided a slightly better chipset. However, this chipset has enough raw performance to run everyday apps and games without any issues.

Speaking of gaming, this chipset can run games like PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, Black Desert Mobile, CODm, and even Genshin Impact decently, but only at low graphics. Due to the large size of the smartphone, heat spreads quickly, which keeps the phone cool. In terms of performance, you won’t have any issues affecting your daily life.

It also supports 5G connectivity, so one can expect great gigabit-level 5G speeds and low latency in gaming. As for the software, the Ulefone Armor 27 Pro runs on Android 14 with a stock UI, which is lighter on the system and offers a better user experience. As for the RAM and storage, the smartphone has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Having 12GB of RAM is a bit overkill and won’t be of much use as the chipset isn’t powerful enough to utilize the 12GB of memory. Ulefone could have invested in offering a better chipset with 6GB of RAM instead of an average chipset with 12GB of RAM. At least the storage can be expanded with a microSDXC card.

Camera

The Ulefone Armor 27 Pro sports a 50MP triple rear camera system. The 50MP main camera is capable of taking some amazing photos considering the price of the smartphone. Images tend to have decent levels of detail and saturated colors, which should be enough for most people, but don’t expect exceptional camera performance as this phone isn’t designed to deliver that. It provides just enough camera performance to get the job done for most people.

There’s also a 50MP ultra-wide camera, which comes close to matching the main camera’s image quality and level of detail, but with a wide 117˚ field of view. The third camera is a 64MP night vision camera that’s accompanied by two infrared LEDs, which are necessary for the camera to capture images in the dark. You can take really detailed photos in complete darkness.

On the front, you’ll find a 32MP selfie camera that can take some decent photos with good levels of detail and natural color tones. As for video recording, the Ulefone Armor 27 Pro can record at a maximum resolution of 1440p at 30 FPS from the main rear camera.

Battery and others

The Ulefone Armor 27 Pro has a 10600mAh Li-Po battery, which is high in capacity and designed to deliver exceptional battery life. It can easily last up to a week with light usage including a bit of texting, calling, camera, browsing, watching videos, etc. However, with more intensive usage including gaming, the battery will drain faster.

As for charging, the phone features a 33W wired fast charging system and a 30W wireless one. These fast charging capabilities are pretty decent but due to the massive battery capacity, the actual charging speed will still be slow and will take hours to fully recharge. The phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The smartphone is currently available for purchase at just $297 (Rs 24,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion

The Ulefone Armor 27 Pro has everything it needs to be a decent rugged smartphone. It has an exceptionally solid build quality and it looks pretty good too. It also has a decent chipset that will run your apps well and deliver more than average gaming performance. The display is also pretty decent and so are the cameras. The best thing about this smartphone is its night vision camera and the battery. It even has wireless charging, which is usually not found on rugged smartphones.

Considering the specifications and features of this phone, the price seems pretty decent. However, the phone also has some drawbacks such as the processing and gaming power which could have been better. A better alternative to this phone would be the OnePlus Ace 3V which has better specifications including a better processor for an even lower price. However, the final decision is up to you so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
