Circle to Search feature now rolling out to first non-Samsung phones
Circle to search now on Pixel 8 series
Google recently rolled out an interesting feature, “Circle to Search”, for its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. This feature originally introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series allows users to seamlessly launch a Google search by circling, scribbling or clicking on any content displayed on their screens.
The introduction of “Circle to Search” is part of the latest Pixel feature update, eliminating the need for users to download additional updates to access this innovative feature. The deployment is done on the server side, thus improving user comfort.
To enable the “Circle to Search” feature, users can choose between two methods depending on their phone’s navigation settings. For devices with three-button navigation enabled, a long press on the home button triggers the circular search. Alternatively, for those using gesture navigation, a long press on the navigation bar achieves the same result.
In the future, it is hoped that the innovative “Circle to Search” feature, currently available on the Pixel 8 and Galaxy S24 series, will be available for non-Pixel devices and older Samsung phones. As technology continues to evolve, the prospect of “Circle to Search” becoming a cross-platform feature holds promise for a more uniform and user-friendly experience across various Android devices.
This intuitive feature is set to improve the user experience on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro devices, providing a quick and efficient way to launch searches with a simple tap. As Google continues to refine and expand its offerings, users can expect more seamless and intuitive features in future updates.
