Lava Blaze X Smartphone Review

Lava Flare X

Lava Blaze X Smartphone Review: The Lava Blaze X was launched in India in July 2024 and started shipping to customers by the end of that month. Since Lava is an Indian brand, the smartphone will be exclusively available in India and you won’t find it all over the world. This phone comes with a sleek design with a circular camera module reminiscent of other Lava phones launched in 2024.

Lava has provided a curved display along with 5G technology for the Lava Blaze X at a budget price. It is clear that the company wants to impress its Indian users, so it has gone all out for this phone. Let’s begin with a detailed review of the Lava Blaze X smartphone and find out if it is worth buying.

Lava Blaze X Smartphone Review

  1. The Lava Blaze X smartphone features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
  2. The chipset inside the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G SoC, which is capable of clock speeds of 2×2.4 GHz.
  3. The Lava Blaze X smartphone arrives with Android 14 out of the box with a clean stock UI.
  4. The Lava Blaze X smartphone has a 64MP dual rear camera system while the selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.
  5. The phone has a 5000mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging support.

Design and exhibition

The Lava Blaze X has a curved design on both the front and back, which not only gives it a premium look but also makes it more comfortable in the hand. This was quite surprising considering the budget price of the phone. The body of the smartphone is solid and does not creak or bend in any way.

The rear panel has a huge circular camera module that certainly adds to the charm of the phone. All the buttons are on the right side of the phone, so right-handed users will find it easy to navigate through them. The smartphone is available in Starlight Purple and Titanium Grey colours.

The Lava Blaze X also has an extremely bezel-less display with uniform bezels all around. Speaking of the display, the new smartphone features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. This display comes with an FHD+ resolution, so images will look sharper and it will be a pleasure to watch videos on it. Other manufacturers only offer HD+ displays in this price range.

Memory and internal

Lava has equipped the Lava Blaze X with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset, which is capable of clocking up to 2×2.4GHz. In terms of performance, the chipset will launch any app or game quickly without any issues. The performance is decent and seems quite fluid due to the effective use of the 120Hz refresh rate.

Its gaming performance is also pretty decent and will take care of most of your gaming needs. Playing games like PUBGm, Summoners War, and CODm won’t be a problem. Even Genshin Impact will work, but don’t expect the best performance. The smartphone also supports 5G connectivity for gigabit speeds and lower latency, which should help in online gaming.

Also, there is no overheating of any kind in daily usage, so it is not something you need to worry about. The smartphone also comes with Android 14 out of the box with a clean, stock UI for the best experience. Lava mentioned that they are working on the update to Android 15, which should arrive on the Lava Blaze X as soon as it is ready. As far as memory and storage are concerned, the Lava Blaze X is available for purchase with up to 4GB/ 8GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB of fast UFS 2.2 internal storage. You can also expand the storage later using the microSDXC expansion slot.

Camera

The Lava Blaze X features a 64MP dual rear camera setup. The primary rear camera consists of a 64MP sensor that is capable of taking some decent photographs. The detail levels are good enough for most use cases and the color tone also appears natural most of the time. The image quality is comparable to other smartphones in the same price range.

The second camera on this smartphone is a 2MP macro camera, which is of no use and is on the phone just for show, like other phones. However, considering the price of the smartphone, it is acceptable. On the front side, the smartphone has a 16MP selfie camera that can capture some decent selfies that are good enough to be posted on social media platforms. As far as video recording is concerned, both the rear camera and the selfie camera can record videos at a maximum resolution of 1080P at 30 FPS. There is no OIS or EIS stabilization for video recording.

Battery and others

The Lava Blaze X is equipped with a high-capacity 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery that can keep it going for 1-3 days with light to medium usage, including a camera, music, and a bit of social media. But if you’re a heavy user or play a lot of games, the battery won’t last as long. Also, if you use 5G to play games or download movies, the battery will drain even faster.

However, there is support for 33W wired fast charging that can fully charge the smartphone in around 2 hours. Apart from that, the smartphone has support for dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, an under-display fingerprint sensor, OTG, and a USB Type-C connector for charging. The smartphone is available in India for $180 (Rs 14,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion

The Lava Blaze X has achieved what other smartphones have failed to do in the budget market: deliver a compelling and attractive smartphone. The Blaze X has a fantastic design with a curved display that will draw a lot of attention as soon as you turn on the screen. No other phone has a borderless curved display in this price range.

The curved design is the main draw of this device and Lava took the opportunity to offer a fantastic display with accurate colors and a very nice look. Gaming performance is also decent and can run many games at decent performance levels. The phone also has a large battery that will keep up with the processing needs and still offer solid battery life. The camera is also good enough for the price and won’t disappoint you.

Overall, it is a solid smartphone and judging by the specs it has, the price is decent. It is a clear recommendation from our side but the smartphone is not available globally. So, for our global fans, we recommend the Vivo T3x which is also a decent smartphone for a good price but no smartphone can match the unique attributes of the Lava Blaze X. However, the final decision is up to you so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.
