Realme C63 Smartphone Review: Realme announced the Realme C63 smartphone in May 2024 with much fanfare and it went on sale in June 2024. The smartphone is available globally but it was launched in India as the Realme C63 and it might be launched under a different name in other countries as well. The phone is tipped to be Realme’s newest budget smartphone, so the company had to keep the same design as its predecessor, the Realme C53, to keep the costs down.
Realme wants to make it very competitive against other smartphones of the same price, so it has also launched the Realme C63 in a 5G variant with some improvements. So, let’s start with a detailed review of the Realme C63 smartphone and see if it is worth buying.

Design and exhibition
Smartphone makers do a lot of research before designing a smartphone, but this requires a lot of resources that Realme cannot waste on a budget smartphone. On the Realme C63, the company has opted for the same design as its predecessor. It has a flat design with a matte/leather finish. It is available in two colours, Leather Blue and Jade Green.
As the name suggests, the Leather Blue colour variant has a leather finish on the back panel while the other colour variant is made entirely of plastic. The sides and edges of the phones are flat and the overall build of the phone seems solid. As far as the design is concerned, it looks quite stylish and people will find it hard to believe that this is a budget phone.
On the front, you’ll find the 6.75-inch IPS display with support for a high 90Hz refresh rate for a smooth user experience. Thankfully, Realme opted for an FHD+ panel, so there are no compromises here. The display panel also gets adequately illuminated at 560 nits under direct sunlight, so you shouldn’t have any issues using the smartphone outdoors.
Memory and internal
The Realme C63 is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T612 4G SoC, which isn’t the best, but it’s not the worst either. The chipset used to be very popular in smartphones back in the day, but it’s getting older now. However, it’s still available in budget smartphones like this phone. This chipset is capable of clocking up to 2×1.8 GHz, so it’s powerful enough to run all your daily apps like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram, and more on the smartphone without any major issues.
This chipset has the Mali-G57 GPU which can run some low-end games like Temple Run or Candy Crash at relatively smooth frame rates, but nothing more than that. Don’t try to run games like Genshin Impact or even PUBG Mobile as the performance will be unbearably slow.
As for the network connectivity, the smartphone only supports up to 4G and there is a separate 5G model available in the market. As far as software is concerned, the Realme C63 runs on Android 14 OS with RealmeUI 5.0, which offers a lot more customization options. As for the RAM and storage, the smartphone can be purchased with up to 4GB/ 6GB/ 8GB/ 12GB of RAM and 128GB/ 256GB of internal storage. The Realme C63 also has a headphone jack, which is incredibly hard to find these days.
Camera
Realme has equipped the Realme C63 with a 50MP single camera system. The 50MP primary camera is capable of capturing images with decent levels of detail and high dynamic range. The auxiliary lens is just for show and doesn’t do anything special.
On the front of the Realme C63 is an 8MP sensor that takes some selfies that can be considered good enough for the price. As for video recording, the Realme C63 can record at a maximum of 1080p at 30 FPS from the rear camera and 720p at 30 FPS from the selfie cameras, but there is no stabilization of any kind.
Battery and others
The Realme C63 has a massive 5000mAh non-removable battery that can provide a decent battery backup to impress its users. The smartphone can easily last for 2-3 days on a single charge. Obviously, this is with low to medium usage but with gaming, the battery won’t last the same way. It will drain faster and you’ll be lucky if it lasts a full day.
However, the smartphone supports 45W wired fast charging, which will help you fully charge the smartphone in under two hours. This charger will also come included in the box, so you don’t need to buy it separately. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available for purchase at $126 (Rs 10,490 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Realme C63 is one of the most balanced phones we’ve seen in a while. It has a decent display, great battery life, and cameras good enough for posting on social media. While the chipset is manageable, it’s not fast. Other smartphones in the same price range offer better chipsets.
There is also a 5G variant available, because 5G is quickly becoming a necessity in this day and age, and the lack of 5G is a big problem in 2024. These specifications are okay in this price range, and you can buy this smartphone. However, there is a phone that has even better specifications than this smartphone in the same price range. That is none other than the Xiaomi Poco M6 Pro, which has better overall specifications for a low price. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.
