In terms of design, this new budget smartphone looks similar to the Vivo iQOO 12 and other iQOO smartphones launched in 2024. Realme is focusing on three key aspects of a smartphone with the launch of Realme P2 Pro: design, display and performance to impress. Generation Z users. Let’s start with a detailed review of the new Realme P2 Pro and see if this smartphone is worth buying.

Design and display
The design of the Realme P2 Pro smartphone certainly looks very premium, especially with the curved design and squirrel-shaped camera module. It looks like the iQOO 12 but with more curves. The curves are the highlight of this smartphone and make it look much more premium. The body is made of plastic but the build quality is extremely solid so there is nothing to worry about.
Realme P2 Pro is available in Parrot Green and Eagle Gray colors. The smartphone is also protected by IP65 dust and splash water resistance, but do not take the phone into the pool. Its display is also curved like the rest of the phone and also features thinner bezels all around, making it look more like an expensive smartphone, even though it isn’t.
The Realme P2 Pro has a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This display has a high contrast ratio, accurate colors, and supports up to 1 billion colors. Basically, it is a fantastic panel and you will enjoy watching content on this screen. The screen can also reach a brightness of up to 2000 nits in direct sunlight, which will eliminate any problems that usually arise when using phones outdoors. Unfortunately, there is no protection for the screen.
Memory and internal
Realme P2 Pro is equipped with the Qualcomm SM7435-AB Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 5G chipset, which can reach clock speeds of up to 4×2.4GHz. This is a pretty decent chipset that can run everyday apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and more, smoothly and without any major issues. This is possible thanks to Realme’s optimizations and the chipset’s higher 2.4 GHz clock speed.
This level of performance is also seen on the gaming side. The chipset comes equipped with the Adreno 710 GPU that can play games like CODm, Black Desert Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Summoners War, and even Genshin Impact at decent frame rates. This chipset manages to provide this performance without overheating issues. It also supports 5G connectivity, which will provide gigabit-level download speeds and low latency during gaming.
In terms of RAM and storage, the Realme P2 Pro can be purchased in three variants: 8GB+128GB RAM and storage, 12GB+256GB RAM and storage, and 12GB+512GB RAM and storage. However, there is no support for microSDXC cards for later storage expansion. The Realme P2 Pro also comes with Android 14 with Realme UI 5.0 for better customization support. Realme even promised to provide two years of Android updates and three years of security updates.
Camera
The Realme P2 Pro features a 50MP dual rear camera system. The 50MP main rear camera can take some decent photos with high dynamic range and tends to have a lot of detail. The overall color tone is also quite natural if the lighting is adequate. However, details suffer a little when using the smartphone indoors with a lot of artificial lighting.
The 8MP ultra-wide secondary sensor can take good shots that are practical and can be used online without too much tinkering. However, the quality and detail levels are not the same as the main camera, which is to be expected in this price range. For selfies, you get a selfie camera with a 32MP sensor, which manages to capture somewhat decent selfies with a good amount of detail.
Human subjects in selfies also tend to have a natural skin tone, which users will surely support. As for video recording, the Realme P2 Pro can record up to a maximum resolution of 4K at 30 FPS from both the rear camera system and the selfie camera system. The main rear camera supports OIS and gyro-EIS for video stabilization, but the same cannot be said for the selfie camera sensor.
Battery and others
The Realme P2 Pro has a high-capacity 5200 mAh battery, which is quite large for a smartphone in this price range. This battery can easily last 2-3 days with light use, which is a plus point for this phone. The battery performance of the Realme P2 Pro easily surpasses many other smartphones in the same price range.
Even with medium to heavy use, the phone should last a full day. However, intense gaming will significantly reduce battery life and may not last a full day. Speaking of charging, the Realme P2 Pro supports up to 80W fast wired charging. The smartphone charges up to 50% in just 19 minutes and fully charges in 49 minutes. Apart from that, the Realme P2 Pro comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, stereo speakers, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The Realme P2 Pro price starts at $262 (Rs 21,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Realme P2 Pro offers a decent smartphone experience for the money. Realme focused on three key aspects of the smartphone and they have certainly delivered in those areas. The design is combined with the curved and bezel-less display, which provides a superior user experience. Even the chipset performance is fantastic for this price range and will not disappoint.
These three aspects of this smartphone really stand out and provide a better experience than other competing phones. As for the other areas of the Realme P2 Pro such as the camera, battery, and charging, they are also quite impressive, especially the charging speed. However, the only thing we really miss in this smartphone is the screen protection, which would undoubtedly have made it a spectacular mid-range.
However, this is an excellent smartphone even without screen protection, thanks to its competitive price, which sweetens the deal. Considering everything the Realme P2 Pro offers, the price is certainly justified. The only alternative smartphone would be the OnePlus Nord CE 4, which offers a better chipset, larger battery, and even faster charging speed for a slightly higher price. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
