Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra smartphones review: The Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra were announced in December 2024 in China and started shipping that week. All three smartphones are quite similar, so we will review them together. These three phones are only available in China for now, but will soon go on sale globally like other Honor phones.
The Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra are designed to deliver a flagship experience, so they have extremely high-end specs inside, including fast 5G connectivity. All three phones feature a similar design and look fantastic. The Honor 300 Pro and Ultra feature a rounded design with a curved display, while the Honor 300 has a flat display and design.
However, many users are still confused about the new phones and can’t decide which model to choose. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra to help you decide which smartphone is best for you and whether it is worth buying.
Review of Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra smartphones
Highlights
- The Honor 300 has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, while the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. The displays on all three phones support a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
- The Honor 300 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 5G chipset, while the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra are equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 5G chipset.
- All three smartphones come with the latest Android 15 out of the box with a MagicOS 9 UI, allowing for more customizations.
- The Honor 300 features a 50MP dual rear camera system, while the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra feature a 50MP triple rear camera system. For the selfie camera, the Honor 300 features a 50MP selfie camera, while the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra feature a 50MP dual selfie camera system.
- The Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra are equipped with a 5300 mAh battery. All three phones have 100W wired fast charging. The Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra also support 80W wireless fast charging.
Design and display
The Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra follow a similar design language with the same plastic and glass build, but differ in terms of shape. The Honor 300 has a flat body and display, while the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra have a curved display and body. The flat body provides better grip and protection for the screen, but the curved body is more comfortable to touch and looks great. This comes down to personal choices and preferences.
The build quality of all three phones is more than decent and you won’t find any flex or creak. The Honor 300 is available in Black, White, Green, Purple and Gray colors while the Honor 300 Pro can be purchased in Black, White and Green color options. Lastly, the Honor 300 Ultra features only black and white colors. The three smartphones will be protected from dust and splashes of water thanks to IP65 certifications.
As for the display, the Honor 300 has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, while the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. The displays on all three phones feature a high refresh rate of 120Hz for a better user experience. Additionally, all three displays support up to 1 billion colors and HDR. As for display brightness, the displays are capable of reaching a maximum brightness of up to 4000 nits under direct sunlight. The Honor 300 and 300 Pro do not have any type of screen protection, but the Honor 300 Ultra is protected by a giant rhino glass.
Memory and internal
The Honor 300 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 5G chipset, which is capable of reaching clock speeds of up to 1×2.63 GHz. On the other hand, the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra are equipped with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset 8 Gen 3 5G, which can reach clock speeds of up to 1×3.0 GHz.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is significantly faster than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, but you won’t find any problems with both in everyday tasks. However, there will be a big difference in gaming performance and that is because the former is a flagship chipset. Therefore, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 can play games like PUBG, CODm, Genshin Impact, and more, at maximum graphical fidelity with 60 FPS, but the other chipset cannot. You will have to lower the graphics to get 60 FPS on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
All three phones also have 5G connectivity, which will let you download things at gigabit speeds and low latency. They are also loaded with the latest Android 15 out of the box with a MagicOS 9 UI for more customization options. In terms of RAM and storage, the Honor 300 has 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB and 16GB+512GB of RAM and internal storage.
On the other hand, the Honor 300 Pro has 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB and 16GB+512GB of RAM and internal storage. Lastly, the Honor 300 Ultra has 12GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB of RAM and internal storage.
Camera
The Honor 300 features a 50MP dual rear camera system, while the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra feature a 50MP triple rear camera system. The difference between the camera systems of the three phones is that the Honor 300 has only two cameras, while the other two phones have an additional telephoto lens.
The 50MP main camera is the same on all three phones. It is capable of taking exceptional photographs with high levels of detail and accurate color tones. The 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera is also equally capable and can capture some decent photos with a 112° field of view. The level of detail and color accuracy of this camera are quite similar to that of the main camera.
As you know, the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra have an additional camera, which is a 50MP telephoto sensor that is capable of capturing images at higher zoom levels without losing image quality. However, the telephoto sensors of the two phones are not similar. The Honor 300 Ultra has a better quality periscopic telephoto camera, which produces higher quality zoom shots than the Honor 300 Pro.
Overall, the camera system on all three phones is pretty good and you won’t have a problem with any of them when it comes to camera quality, including the Honor 300. The only advantage is that the Pro and Ultra model has a Additional telephoto camera that the base model does not. As for the selfie camera, all three phones have the same 50MP sensor, which is pretty good and takes some amazing selfies.
The Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra have a secondary 2MP selfie sensor, but it doesn’t do anything useful. For video recording, Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra can record up to 4K videos from both the rear camera and the selfie camera. The rear cameras of the Honor 300, Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra have OIS and gyro-EIS, so any video recorded from them is extremely stable. However, the selfie camera only has gyroscope-EIS, so videos recorded with this camera are not as stable as those from the rear cameras.
Battery and others
The Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra have the same 5300 mAh battery and it is capable of providing 1 to 3 days of battery life with light use. Watching movies, texting, and taking a few calls is considered light use, so the battery will last a long time with such use. However, if you play a lot of video games, none of the three smartphones will last you all day.
As for charging, all three smartphones support 100W fast charging and can fully charge the battery in less than 35 minutes. However, the Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra also support 80W wireless fast charging, something the Honor 300 does not support. This wireless charger can fully charge the battery in less than 50 minutes.
Apart from that, all three smartphones have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an under-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, infrared sensor, GPS, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The Honor 300 is available for a starting price of $318 (Rs 26,990 in India) approximately, while the Honor 300 Pro will start at $472 (Rs 39,990 in India). Lastly, the Honor 300 Ultra can be purchased starting at $577 (Rs 48,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
The Honor 300, 300 Pro and 300 Ultra are flagship-level smartphones. Everything from the display and performance to the camera and battery is excellent on all three devices and you won’t find anything to complain about. The three smartphones are quite similar and offer an identical experience but they are not the same.
The Honor 300 will offer almost all the features that its older brother has with some exceptions such as lower gaming performance and the lack of a telephoto camera and wireless charging. It is also cheaper and allows price-conscious users to purchase it. However, if you want better performance in gaming, camera and other features, then the Honor 300 Pro is the one to go for, but it also costs a lot more.
The Honor 300 Ultra has screen protection, a higher base storage variant, and a better telephoto camera. However, this smartphone costs even more. The best alternative smartphone series to the Honor 300 series is the Xiaomi 15 series. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
