Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro Smartphone Review
Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro Smartphone Review – In the rugged smartphone market, Ulefone has been a pioneer in bringing new technology with a rugged build. Not long ago, the company also completed 10 years of running and creating a rather niche armored phone segment. Although rugged phones were already available before, no one has come close to armored phones like Ulefone devices. However, they might not be the first choice for regular users unless they are looking for a bigger battery and a smaller body.
Recently, smartphone makers introduced the compact Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro. Unlike its siblings, the phone has a slightly slim body by its usual standards. Along with this, the company also introduced its flagship Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra, which is expected to arrive in a few months. However, the company did not discount its top features. But is it worth spending your money or not? Let’s find out in the following review.

Design and exhibition
The first thing we liked about the Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro was its compact design. It feels like we are reliving the 2010s era all over again. However, we don’t deny the fact that other brands have launched compact rugged phones before. But the Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro is classy.
The overall design does not disappoint but it has a fascinating look with a yellow semi-circular camera island. This hexagonal camera model looks quite unique with a classic black body. In addition to this, the phone gets top-level IP certification, a multi-grade body, and soft corners to reduce the impact of drops. In short, the phone has everything that was expected from a rugged device from a build point of view.
However, the thick bezels on the 4.7-inch display with a large notch camera module might not be to everyone’s taste. However, the resolution goes up to HD, while a 90Hz refresh rate provides adequate touch response. Having a slightly better touch response won’t matter when the display is at a low brightness level. During everyday use, you won’t notice many issues. But, the highest brightness level of this phone is lacking.
Memory and internal
The Mediastek Dimeisity 6300 chipset on the Armor Mini 20T Pro is an improvement over the previous year’s phones. With this hardware setup, users will have no trouble performing advanced activities, mutilations, and daily tasks. Also, the phone runs Genshin Impact well at low resolution and graphics settings. But still, the graphics end lives up to the name.
The octa-core processing unit can boost the clock speed up to 2×2.4 GHz, while the chipset scored decently in the CPU benchmark. However, it is an average chipset, which usually appears in mid-range phones. But hardware downgrade is common in the rugged smartphone segment. Anyway, the company added the Android 14 interface out of the box.
Similarly, the phone offers a lightweight software interface, unlike its heavy body. Some pre-installed system apps can be disabled, while others can be uninstalled if you want. As for the software experience, there are tons of customization options available in the latest version of Android. Still, it is not confirmed if the Mini 20T Pro will receive an update. Lastly, the phone offers 8GB of RAM with a 265GB UFS 2.2 storage drive with a dedicated microSD slot.
Camera
After reviewing many phones from the Ulefone Armor series, we understand one thing: don’t expect much from the camera department. However, the company claims to improve the overall image processing quality with a new hardware setup. But it only does the bare minimum job and produces mediocre results from the camera module. However, it is positive news that the 50MP main lens can handle colors and contrast properly.
Next, the native camera app also features Flir’s dedicated thermal camera features. Through these advanced features, you can take thermal readings of your workplace. As a site engineer of a thermal plant or anyone related to the job profile, this feature can be helpful. But as a normal user, it is pointless as people will get bored after using this feature once or twice. Again, low-light photography gives disappointing results.
The low-light camera quality is distorted and noise is visible in most photos unless there is a proper light source. As for the video recording aspect, the phone will provide up to 1440p recording resolution, which is pretty good. On the front display, you get a 32MP selfie lens that can take great photos using the native camera features, while also offering the same video quality as the main setup.
Battery and others
The Armor Mini 20T Pro’s 6200mAh Li-ion battery supports 33W wired charging and 15W wired charging. Under normal conditions, the phone can be recharged from zero to 80% in less than an hour using the wired charger. However, the wireless charger will take longer. In terms of screen-on time, the phone arrives with the ability to offer up to 7 hours of screen-on time. You can also extend the battery usage by reducing the screen-on time to moderate.
As for the extra features, the phone offers a 500-lumen flashlight near the camera module. Further, the security aspect is supposedly handled via the biometric scanner. For the communication and sensor setup, users get the standard Bluetooth, Wifi, and NFC features with mediocre sensors. For now, the phone is expected to launch at a price of $476 (Rs 39,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
Overall, the Ulefone Armor Mini 20T Pro is a compact option in the rugged smartphone segment. If you are interested in that feature, then don’t hesitate to buy this phone. But as always, if you don’t like bulky phones with mediocre hardware performance, then it might not be the right choice. Gaming is barely possible on this phone, while photography isn’t great either. But the battery life is worthy of praise.
It is clear that the company launched this phone to compete against the likes of the Blackview N6000 and the Doogee SMini. Both of them are equipped with rugged bodies with their unique offering. Still, they don’t give a challenging competition to the Armor Mini 20T Pro. However, the additional thermal camera is not something that everyone would like, especially when the phone is equipped with a proper camera. Apart from this, the rest of the specifications are pretty much what you expect from an armored phone.
