Vivo T3 Ultra Smartphone Review
Vivo T3 Ultra Smartphone Review: The Vivo T3 Ultra was announced in India in September 2024 and started shipping towards the end of that month. While the smartphone was initially launched in India, it will go on sale globally considering vivo’s previous launch records. The vivo T3 Ultra is actually the lighter version of the vivo V40 Pro, but without the advanced cameras.
The two smartphones were launched at completely different prices, so some compromises had to be made. While the design of these two vivo phones is exactly the same, the colors are different. On top of that, the new phone comes with the same flagship-level hardware, including 5G, to impress enthusiasts and gamers. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Vivo T3 Ultra smartphone and find out if it is worth buying.

Design and exhibition
As we mentioned earlier, the Vivo T3 Ultra has the same design as the Vivo V40 Pro, but that doesn’t mean that the design is bad. In fact, the phone has a beautiful design, and the new Lunar Gray and Frost Green colors look absolutely majestic. On top of that, the smartphone is quite slim, and the edges are rounded, making the phone comfortable to hold.
While the design is quite sleek, we can’t say the same about the build quality. The body is made entirely of plastic, but it’s acceptable considering the price of the phone. On the front, the display has extremely thin borders, which makes it look absolutely fantastic. Moreover, the curved display makes the phone look even more premium.
As for the display, the new smartphone features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate of 120Hz. This display comes with a 1.5K resolution and is capable of displaying up to 1 billion colors. So, viewing content on this screen will be a fantastic experience. The display is also scratch-resistant thanks to the use of Schott Xensation Alpha and the phone has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. Also, the display brightness can reach up to 4500 nits under direct sunlight, so using the smartphone outdoors will not be a problem.
Memory and internal
Vivo has equipped the Vivo T3 Ultra with the Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ 5G chipset, which is capable of clocking at 1×3.35GHz. In terms of performance, the chipset will easily outperform any app or game. This level of performance at a mid-range price point is only possible due to the combination of a flagship-level chipset and a larger vapor chamber to keep the chip’s heat under control.
This chipset may not be as fast as the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but it will offer you a similar level of performance. For gaming, the Immortalis-G715 MC11 GPU will take care of all your gaming needs. Playing games like PUBGm, Summoners War, Black Desert Mobile, CODm, and Genshin Impact at the highest settings won’t be a problem.
The smartphone also supports 5G connectivity to deliver gigabit download speeds and low latency in online gaming. The smartphone also comes with Android 14 with Funtouch 14 UI for better customization support. As for memory and storage, the vivo T3 Ultra is available for purchase with up to 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage.
Camera
The Vivo T3 Ultra smartphone features a 50MP dual rear camera setup. The primary rear camera consists of a 50MP sensor, which is capable of taking excellent photos with a high dynamic range, higher levels of detail, and saturated colors. The detail levels are better than other smartphones in the same price range.
This level of detailed camera performance can also be seen during night photography as this sensor is properly optimized to capture more light. Combined with a better night mode algorithm, this phone produces some stellar images at night. However, similar camera performance is not seen on the secondary camera. The 8MP ultra-wide camera is average at best and not on the same level as the primary camera. This is a compromise in camera quality that we talked about earlier when we compared it to the vivo V40 Pro.
The latter had a much better ultra-wide camera as well as a telephoto camera, but the vivo T3 Ultra is acceptable considering the price. On the front, the smartphone has a 50MP selfie camera that can capture some fantastic selfies with more details, high dynamic range, and natural skin tone. As far as video recording is concerned, both the rear camera and the selfie camera can record videos at a maximum resolution of 4K at 60 FPS. The videos from the rear camera are also stabilized with OIS and gyro-EIS, so the recorded footage will be quite stable.
Battery and others
The Vivo T3 Ultra smartphone has a high-capacity 5500mAh Li-ion battery that can run for at least 1 to 3 days. Three days of battery life is possible with light usage including the camera, texting, music, and a bit of social media. However, if you are a heavy user or play a lot of games, the battery will drain much faster and the phone will struggle to last even a full day.
Also, if you use 5G for gaming and downloading movies, the battery will drain even faster and you might have to switch phones twice a day. Thankfully, the smartphone has support for 80W wired fast charging, which can fully charge the smartphone in just 56 minutes. However, there is no wireless charging capability. Apart from that, the smartphone has support for dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, an under-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and a USB Type-C connector for charging. The smartphone will start at $381 (Rs 31,999 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
Vivo phones are usually known for their excellent camera performance, but the company has opted for a different direction this time with the Vivo T3 Ultra. This is a performance-oriented smartphone aimed at gamers, so it has a flagship-level chipset that can run games with high graphical fidelity and higher frame rates.
The company also included a fantastic display to go along with its powerful chipset. This display panel can get incredibly bright under direct sunlight, so playing games on this phone outdoors won’t be a problem. The Vivo T3 Ultra even has a large battery with a super-fast charging speed, so you’ll be able to game for hours without worrying about the battery. The phone is priced at a great price, but the company had to cut some corners to fit this budget, and that came in the form of camera downgrades.
As we have already said, the Vivo T3 Ultra is a lighter version of the Vivo V40 Pro, but that phone had three camera sensors, which is not the case with this phone. Don’t get us wrong. The camera is more than decent, but it is not at the same level as other Vivo phones. However, the phone has achieved what it wanted and has brought back some serious competition in the mid-range market. The Xiaomi Poco F6 is the best alternative to this smartphone, which has even better gaming performance. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your needs and requirements.
