Design and display
The design of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro has a very clean and elegant look that makes it look like a flagship smartphone even though it is available at a quarter of the price. Xiaomi has perfected the design of its mid-range smartphone to the point that it is difficult to differentiate it from a real flagship in terms of pure appearance. It also features the flat design philosophy that all flagship smartphones seem to have. It’s a Class A design from our perspective.
It is available in gold, blue and black colors. It is lightweight at only 175 grams and also quite thin at only 7.7 mm. It also has an IP54 rating for protection against dust and splashes of water. The smartphone is quite rigid and does not bend or creak when under pressure. On the front, you get a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1 billion colors. The display panel also reaches a maximum brightness of 1000 nits in direct sunlight. But there is no mention of any protection for the screen, so it is recommended to purchase a screen protector if you decide to buy the Redmi Note 13R Pro.
Memory and internal
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 5G chipset. This is a mid-range chipset that runs at 2×2.4 GHz and has an 8-core array, making it a powerful chipset, especially in this price range. It has the performance to run all your favorite apps, like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or anything else.
The GPU of the chipset is the Mali-G57 MC2 and it can run heavy games like PUBG mobile and CODm at good enough frame rates. The chipset also includes a 5G modem, so Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro is 5G ready and capable of downloading all your photos and videos at near-Gigabit speed levels. Furthermore, the chipset is manufactured using the 6nm manufacturing process, so the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro does not get very hot when gaming.
For RAM and storage, the Redmi Note 13R Pro has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. When it comes to the software side, the smartphone runs on Android 13 with an MIUI 14 user interface for better customization support. The smartphone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack that supports high-definition audio streaming.
Camera
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro sports a 108MP dual rear camera system that has a 108MP sensor as the primary camera and a 2MP secondary depth camera. The 108MP main sensor is properly optimized, so it is capable of taking excellent photographs with high dynamic range, good levels of detail and saturated colors.
This level of performance also carries over to night photography, as the sensor is optimized to capture more, which when combined with the night mode algorithm allows the camera sensor to enhance every shot it captures. Even in portrait mode, the sensor can take portraits with natural background blur and the edges of the subject are properly maintained.
The selfie camera features a 16MP sensor and can capture great selfies with natural and accurate skin tone. As for video recording, the phone can only record at a maximum of 1080P@30FPS from both the rear camera and the selfie camera, but there is no video stabilization.
Battery and others
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro has a high capacity 5000 mAh Li-Po battery that can keep this smartphone running for at least 1-2 days with light to medium usage. But, if you are a heavy user or a gamer, the smartphone may not last a full day. Also, if you use 5G a lot to download movies and such, the battery will also drain faster.
But you will be happy to know that the smartphone supports 33W wired fast charging, which will quickly recharge the battery in about an hour and a half. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, infrared sensor, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The smartphone is available starting at $290 (Rs 23,999 in India) approximately.

It has an incredible display, a performance-oriented chipset, a decent camera, and an exceptional battery considering the speed this smartphone can offer. Judging by all this, the price seems justified. But there is a little problem with this smartphone.
It is almost a replica of the Redmi Note 13 model. A replica inside, while on the outside, the camera island is a little larger. While the Redmi Note 13R Pro, which has the same specifications and costs around $280, although a little heavier and thicker.
So it’s not clear why pay extra money for the Redmi Note 13R Pro when you can get the same thing for less. Redmi’s smartphone is the biggest competitor of its latest launch in the market.
