At the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy S24 series with Galaxy AI, consisting of three models set to redefine smartphone excellence. The lineup includes the Galaxy S24 starting at $800, the Galaxy S24 Plus at $1,000, and the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra starting at $1,300.

Distinguished by a formidable 50MP 5x telephoto lens, the Galaxy S24 Ultra takes the lead in the series. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, lacking this feature, compensate with sleek design and compelling specs.

In the US, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 Galaxy processors, while European, Indian and select markets feature Samsung’s Exynos 2400. Memory configurations vary, with the S24 offering 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB (512GB for European buyers). The S24 Plus offers 12GB of RAM and storage choices of 256GB or 512GB.

The incremental upgrades extend to battery capacity, reaching 4,000 mAh on the S24 and 4,900 mAh on the S24 Plus. However, both maintain last year’s maximum charging speeds at 25W and 45W, respectively. Wireless charging is supported at up to 15W via Samsung’s Fast Wireless Charging 2.0.

Made with an aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, the S24 and S24 Plus feature IP68 water and dust resistance. Color options include black, gray, purple, yellow and exclusive online choices.

The design continuity from the previous model is evident, but the hardware improvements shine through. The Galaxy S24 has a 6.2-inch display, while the S24 Plus has a 6.7-inch display. Peak brightness is considerably high, reaching 2,600 nits compared to last year’s 1,750 nits. The S24 Plus also gets an improved resolution from 1080p to 1440p.

Camera specs remain unchanged, with both models housing a triple camera setup: a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a front-facing camera. of 12 MP.

Samsung notably makes an impressive commitment to software support, promising seven generations of operating system upgrades and seven years of security updates for all three models.
