Honor X60i Smartphone Review
Honor X60i Smartphone Review: The Honor X60i was announced in July 2024 in China and the smartphone started shipping in August 2024. We expect the Honor X60i to launch globally in the coming months like other Honor smartphones did but the company hasn’t mentioned anything officially yet. In terms of design, it resembles its predecessor, the Honor X50i+, which was launched last year.
This phone is designed as a budget mid-range smartphone, so it has all the necessary specifications, including 5G connectivity. The inclusion of 5G in this price range is sure to impress a lot of people and improve the user experience, but it remains to be seen how well it is marketed, considering the fierce competition. Let’s start with a detailed review of the Honor X60i and see if this smartphone is worth buying.

Design and exhibition
The Honor X60i’s design follows the same design language as its predecessor, the Honor X50i Plus, which is a good thing. The phone features a flat design with beautiful patterns on the rear panel. It looks quite premium, but the same can’t be said about the build materials as they are entirely plastic, which is common on budget phones. This compromise is what allowed Honor to keep prices low.
Plus, the phone won’t slip out of your hands easily thanks to its flat, square design. The Honor X60i has a small pill on the display, like the iPhones, and it houses the selfie camera. The bezels of the display are thin and uniform across the entire phone, giving it a premium look. Anyone looking at it will find it hard to believe that this is a budget smartphone.
As for the display, the Honor X60i features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with support for a high 90Hz refresh rate for a smoother experience. The panel features FHD+ resolution, so viewing content on the screen will be a pleasure. The display can also reach a brightness of up to 2000 nits under direct sunlight, so using the smartphone outdoors won’t cause many issues. The colors of this smartphone are also quite interesting. It is available in black, blue, purple, and white, which should satisfy most users. The Honor X60i is protected against dust and water splashes with the IP64 rating.
Memory and internal
The Honor X60i is powered by the MediaTek Dimesnity 6080 5G chipset, which can reach clock speeds of up to 2×2.4GHz. This is an impressive chipset, considering the price of the smartphone. You’ll be happy to know that this chip has enough raw power to run all your everyday apps and games decently, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and more.
Speaking of gaming, this chipset has the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, which is capable of running high-end games like PUBG mobile, CODm, Black Desert Mobile, Summoners War, and even Genshin Impact at relatively smooth frame rates at low graphics settings. The Honor X60i runs on Android 14 OS with a feature-rich MagicOS 8 UI.
Honor even included 5G connectivity, which not only offers better download speeds but also helps in multiplayer gaming by reducing network latencies. The smartphone will be available for purchase with up to 8GB/12GB of RAM and up to 256GB/512GB of internal storage, which should be enough for most users.
Camera
The Honor X60i comes with a 50MP dual rear camera system. The main camera features a 50MP sensor, which is capable of capturing excellent photos with good levels of detail and a high dynamic range. We expected less considering the price, but the image quality is pretty decent. The secondary 2MP camera sensor is useless and is just there for show.
On the front of the Honor X60i, there is an 8MP selfie camera, which can take selfies good enough to post on social media. As for video recording, the Honor X60i can record at a maximum of 1080p at 30 FPS with both the rear camera and the selfie camera. Also, there is no OIS or gyro-EIS video stabilization, so video footage recorded with this camera may look shaky.
Battery and others
The Honor X60i has a high-capacity 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery, capable of providing excellent battery life that should last 2 days or even more with lighter usage. This includes social media, texting, light browsing, YouTube, etc. However, the battery will drain faster and may not even last a full day with intense gaming.
As for charging, the smartphone supports 35W wired fast charging, which can fully charge the battery in about an hour and a half. Apart from that, the phone also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, an under-display fingerprint scanner, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone is available for purchase at $202 (Rs 16,990 in India) approximately.

Conclusion
Honor has achieved its goal of offering a budget mid-range phone with the Honor X60i. It has all the features needed to be a decent mid-range smartphone, including a great display with a decent refresh rate, decent gaming performance, and excellent battery life.
On top of all that, it has 5G, something that is not usually present in other budget phones. With this 5G connectivity, Honor wants to offer gigabit-level download speeds and low latency in gaming. Considering everything it has, the price is decent. However, if Honor phones are not available in your region, other smartphones offer similar or better features.
For example, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 offers much better camera performance than this one, but it costs roughly the same. However, both are excellent phones. The final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.
